Class of 2024

My wife and I just got back from our son's kindergarten orientation. I can't believe that next Monday his academic career begins. It seems as though the time has just flown. What really got me was when we entered the school, we were greeted by a sign that read "Welcome Class of 2024." I know that that day is far off but at the same time I realize that it is not too far off. I know that on the first day of school the crying is usually reserved for the mother, but I know that I will well up too.

My only prayer as he begins his academic career is that as each year passes he remains just as excited and enthusiastic as he is now for school. I don't want him to be like me and how I was with school. I did not mind school or going, but I was always the kid that never applied myself and capable of much more. I look back and realize that has probably came back and bit me in the butt!

Dear Lord,
I pray that you be with Casey as he begins his academic career and instill in him that excitment and enthusiasm that he has now and that it will remain with him throughout the years. Let him always be a Leader and treat everyone with kindness and patience, the way You have treated each and everyone of us. It is in Your Name that I pray.

Here We Go Again!

Here we go again. Where are we going, I am not quite sure. In order to get to our destination we have to start somewhere, right? Actually this is more like a restart . You see, since my last post on this blog, which happened to be January 1, 2016, ALOT has changed. In the almost nine years since that post, there has been a global pandemic, huge divisions in this country, and host of different things on the personal level that at times still has me saying, "what the heck is going on?"  I can't say exactly why I stopped updating this blog at that time but taking a stroll back down memory lane shows that I really wasn't all that consistent back then. One Week Down!

I know, I know...I have fallen behind on my 30 Day challenge. I am not too far behind so hopefully I can catch it up soon. I am past the point of feeling that I have let myself down. This month is the first month that I have had so many consecutive posts since I started this blog that I am quite pleased with myself actually. Just keep on bearing with me.
