Class of 2024
My wife and I just got back from our son's kindergarten orientation. I can't believe that next Monday his academic career begins. It seems as though the time has just flown. What really got me was when we entered the school, we were greeted by a sign that read "Welcome Class of 2024." I know that that day is far off but at the same time I realize that it is not too far off. I know that on the first day of school the crying is usually reserved for the mother, but I know that I will well up too. My only prayer as he begins his academic career is that as each year passes he remains just as excited and enthusiastic as he is now for school. I don't want him to be like me and how I was with school. I did not mind school or going, but I was always the kid that never applied myself and capable of much more.
