Never Alone

Welcome to my new blog!  This is not my only blog, but it is my first one here on Blogger.  My other blog can be found here: http://mindofsmoothie.tumblr.com.  Before the Tumblr blog I had a WordPress blog.  I switched from WordPress to Tumblr because I needed a change, and I wasn't updating the WordPress as much.  I like Tumblr alot and I will continue to update that blog as well, but that is a more "fun" blog for me.  Here I plan to express my thoughts and opinions on various different topics.  I hope you all enjoy it!

You may be wondering what the previous paragraph had to do with the actual title of this post.  Well, wonder no more.  Right now in my life I am going through some hard times.  Most of this has to do with money.  I graduated college last year, and the student loans are rolling in.  My wife just finished up with her Masters degree, and here come her loans!  We have made some poor financial decisions in the past, and now it is time to face them.  The road ahead of us is going to be a tough one, but through it all I can never seem to get too down. I remain optimistic and continue to smile and live one day at a time.  The reason that I can continue on like this is because of my faith in the Lord.  I know that He will not let me fall so I continue to praise Him and be thankful for all of the things that He has given me in my life.  This is taken from the poem "Footprints in the Sand"....  

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

The following video is also another powerful reminder to me the I am not alone.  After seeing this video and other performances of this skit and even by the youth of our church the messages is still strong and still makes me well up...


With Jesus I will weather the storm and I will get through this.  I will make the necessary changes, find that new job and continue to take it one day at a time.  I know that I am Never Alone!

Here We Go Again!

Here we go again. Where are we going, I am not quite sure. In order to get to our destination we have to start somewhere, right? Actually this is more like a restart . You see, since my last post on this blog, which happened to be January 1, 2016, ALOT has changed. In the almost nine years since that post, there has been a global pandemic, huge divisions in this country, and host of different things on the personal level that at times still has me saying, "what the heck is going on?"  I can't say exactly why I stopped updating this blog at that time but taking a stroll back down memory lane shows that I really wasn't all that consistent back then. So I guess you can say that that much hasn't changed. I always have and still do struggle with being consistent. One Week Down!

I know, I know...I have fallen behind on my 30 Day challenge. I am not too far behind so hopefully I can catch it up soon. I am past the point of feeling that I have let myself down. This month is the first month that I have had so many consecutive posts since I started this blog that I am quite pleased with myself actually. Just keep on bearing with me. Everyday I am trying to think of ways to makenhis blog a little bit better, a little less...blah. Don't get me wrong everything that I right is meaningful and true, but I need to incorporate more photos, videos, and even fonts. Again I say, just bear with me!
